USRF Announces $135 Million TUSRIF Grant to Support Ukraine and Moldova

February 1, 2023

The U.S. Russia Foundation (USRF) is proud to announce that in partnership with the U.S. Agency for International Development and the United States Congress, the U.S. Russia Investment Fund will transfer over $135 million of previously escrowed funds to the Western NIS Enterprise Fund, whose mission is to support the economic development of Ukraine and Moldova. This transfer marks the fulfillment of USRF’s pledge of support for a sovereign and democratic Ukraine in the face of the Russian government’s unprovoked and unjustified aggression.

USRF will likewise continue to stand with the brave Russian people who are speaking out against the Kremlin’s invasion of Ukraine, and will continue its support for Russian independent media, human rights defenders, and civil society, including those who are now in exile outside Russia. With today’s announcement, the Foundation reaffirms its unwavering commitment to support Russians who seek a different and peaceful future for their country.
