Frank J. Caufield


Mr. Caufield has been active in the venture capital field since the 1970s. He is a co-founder of Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers in Menlo Park, CA. His investments have focused on healthcare, computer and internet technologies and biotechnology. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and WebAction (a private company). Previously, he was a member of the boards of Time Warner, Inc. (lead independent director), AOL Inc., Caremark Inc., Quantum Corporation and VeriFone, as well as many other public and private companies. He has also served as a director of the Council on Foreign Relations, Refugees International, the San Francisco Film Society and was also past Chairman of the San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Society.

He is past President of both the Western Association of Venture Capitalists and the National Venture Capital Association. Mr. Caufield is a graduate of the United States Military Academy and holds an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.
